Tutoring (La Escuelita)

Equipping the next generation of Oaklanders

We believe that strengthening the education system and caring for youth is a way to improve our city's future.

Regeneration has adopted La Escuelita as our neighborhood elementary school. We partner with Faith Network to tutor kids on Wednesdays.

Why you may be interested in tutoring, even if you don't know it yet:

  • Oakland's students need more help than they are currently getting. Oakland's school system is not at a capacity to meet the diverse and unique needs of its students. It needs help, from people who can just give some 1-on-1 attention, and remove some of the hurdles to learning that are facing Oakland students.
  • You need a refresher on pronouns, direct objects, mixed numbers, and the area of a triangle. There's no better way to learn than to teach someone else.
  • Hanging out with kids for an hour and a half is perfect. Not enough time for them to misbehave, not so short you don't feel like anything was accomplished.

All tutors must be registered with the Faith Network. Contact Abram for more information.
