Refugee ESL Class
A New Life of Hope
Did you know that California became home to over 11,000 refugees in 2009? The numbers continue to grow and many of these refugees resettle right in our own neighborhood of Oakland!
Regeneration has partnered with the International Rescue Committee, an international non-profit, in an effort to support refugees as they resettle in the United States. English classes for newly arrived refugees are held onsite in an effort to support the communities that surround us, and provide the first steps into a new life of hope.
Anyone interested in participating is welcome to come and check out the class; no prior ESL experience is necessary. Just bring an open mind and a serving spirit and come spend time with some of Oakland’s newest residents.
