"Love your alien as yourself." (Le 19:34)
This was the passage that Jesus quoted when asked about the greatest commandment in the Old Testament scriptures, but over the years, and through constant use, this commandment has been divorced from its original context. In Leviticus 19, God commands his people to love the aliens and strangers who live in their land and to identify with them, since they too were once aliens and strangers in Egypt. If you would like to learn more about God's heart for refugees and why he rewards those who live as "aliens and strangers on earth" (Heb 11:13), then please join us for a twelve week study on Tuesday evenings from 7-8:30pm. The study begins January 10th and the first three meetings are open to all who would like to attend. Please email Jeff Malott at malottje@gmail.com if you are interested.
